Although the days of audio cassettes have come and gone depending on who you are talking to, there are very simple ways to get your sermons uploaded to the internet without spending a dime of your money.
Several years ago, I stumbled onto digital voice recorders and about the same time, I was able to find one at an extremely low cost.
You will probably be able to find them at your nearest electronics or drug store such as a Walgreen's, CVS, or other national chain.
The digital voice recorders (DVR) will play MP3 files and record audio as a WAV file. They are small enough to fit inside your hand and come in a variety of colors and capacity sizes.
This process is so simple that you can do it all yourself if you are traveling alone or wish to record a simple meeting for playback.
Once you record the event, you will connect the DVR to your computer with the USB cables that either come with the DVR or that you may need to buy separately.
The DVR will then appear within Windows Explorer and you will usually see on the DVR itself that it is transmitting data between the DVR and computer.
Your next step should be to locate a free program named
Free MP3 WMA Converter that will convert your WAV file to a MP3 file.
Now the WAV file will typically have a smaller file size than the MP3 file, but the MP3 file will be fully portable and playable within any MP3 players, iPods, and other music playing devices.
The WAV itself is better used to burn the audio to CD.
Once you have converted the file to a MP3 file, you have another step to take in order to get full recognition of your sermon or song.
You will want to download and use a program named
MP3 Tag to add your name, website, photo, and other information to identify to the listener who you are as well as give them enough information to easily find you on the internet to hear more great sermons and songs.
MP3 Tag may appear a little tricky to use at first, but it is the easiest program to use.
Just simply add your information on the left side in the various form lines, right click to change the name of your MP3 file to an easier to remember (or more likely a shorter name), and click the Save button (which looks like a floppy diskette).
This is all that is needed before you upload the file to the internet at will.
I like to keep one folder on my websites for all audio files. I have this folder named podcasts since I have placed other podcasts files there as well.
Then there is an option to use TinyURL to reduce the size of the URL before you give it to others. Other people will receive and use the shortened URL web address to go to your website, and listen to your file with or without downloading it.
This is the beauty of the internet.
But you have at least 2 other fishnets that I am about to share with you:)
You can create accounts at either
Last.fm or
iLike and typically see who is enjoying your music and sermons.
Then contact them to see if they wish to obtain more or at least know how to reach you if and when they have any questions.
You can also easily create a video just by using your sermon or audio as the sound to accompany any photo that you desire! Upload your video to
YouTube,
GospelTube, and other sites if it is less than 10 minutes in length and if it is longer than 10 minutes, upload your video to
Viddler or
Google Video.
God has empowered you for just a time as this!
Let me know if you have any questions and I will be sure to fully explain the process in greater detail.
Peace!
